Group studies YWCA for paranormal activity

ALTON — Some say there’s something spooky at the Alton YWCA, and about a dozen brave souls soldiered out Saturday night to look into it.

The group was part of a monthly haunted tour of the YWCA sponsored by the St. Louis Paranormal Research Society.

Among paranormal aficionados, Alton has a reputation for hauntings, and the YWCA is one of the hottest spots, according to Mark Farley, owner and founder of the society.
