IT HAS been some years since anyone visiting Festival Park has complained of hearing the haunting wail of a ghostly child crying for help – or seen the mysterious white rabbit said to accompany the unearthly shrieks.
Yet at one time, sightings of the rabbit, which would hop across the path of travellers with no fear, never hurrying to seek safety as a wild rabbit would, were apparently commonplace, usually accompanied by a spine-chilling cry for help.
