Saratoga-based gal ghostbusters to show off hunting prowess All-female group takes cases in Capital

For the all-female Saratoga Paranormal Research Team, ghostbusting is empowering.

"We stand out," team leader and founder Roxanne Rock said. "We decided: Let's be different. ... Women's power, women's intuition: Let's see what comes of it."

SPRT was founded in 2010 in collaboration with Craig Wander's ScaryToga — another ghost-hunting outfit — and conducts paranormal investigations across the Capital Region.

Jennifer Staulters of Ballston Spa, one of the first of the five members of the business, believes that being an all-female team provides SPRT with an advantage that other paranormal investigators do not have.

"I think people are more comfortable" working with women, she said.

"They like the idea that we're girls," said Rock, who lives in Saratoga. "They seem to open up. We can sit and talk, and we actually end up making friends with everyone we go on cases with."
