Government blames 'ghosts' for farmer suicides in Madhya Pradesh
In a height of insensibility, the Madhya Pradesh government has stated that the 418 farmer suicides happened in chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s home district Sehore took because they were “possessed by ghosts”.
They however made it clear that it is an account of the relatives of the deceased.
On Wednesday, State Home Minister Bhupendra Singh mentioned the same in a written reply to Congress MLA Shailendra Patel.
The minister justified his act saying that the fact is purely based on the accounts of the farmers’ family members. But he also stated that no farmer committed suicide due to financial problems.
