Remember those ghost tours at Gloucester Prison? This is what they found
When it was announced that ghost-hunting tours were to be held at Gloucester Prison, people couldn't get enough of it.
If anywhere's going to be haunted, it's surely going to be a jail that was opened in 1792 and saw more than 100 inmates executed there.
Right?
Well, just maybe - if the newly revealed findings of those tours, held in October, are to be believed.
Natalie Lawrence, of Spooktacular Ghost Hunting Events UK, has told us what kind of experiences guests had on the tours, and shared photos taken by one of their customers that might show an eerie face at a window.
Here's what kind of things were recorded on the tours:
Knocks and bangs and 'intelligent responses' to questions asked by tapping on the floor/cell walls
A security guard who doesn't believe in ghosts once found himself locked in a cell on one event at the start of the night even though no lock was on the door
Cell doors slamming
Shadowy figures have been seen a lot on C Wing, peering round the corners and walking past the cell doors
Figures seen on the balcony in the chapel
Objects have moved
Guests feeling affected, some have had to be taken out of the area
Names and dates have come through on spirit boards
Photographs taken by one guest have also been shared. Natalie said: "A guest who has attended several of our nights took a picture inside a cell and captured what looks like a man by the window, obviously we are not saying this is a ghost but it is very interesting."
