Fancy getting paid to spend the night in a haunted prison?
If you think you’re brave enough Shepton Mallet Prison is looking for someone to stay in the grounds overnight…and you’ll get paid for it.
The site, which was a working prison up until 2013, is now used as an events venue, offering ‘cell escape’ challenges, corporate days and paranormal activity tours - due to a wealth of ghostly sightings.
But if that doesn’t put you off, the prison is looking for an overnight supervisor to take on a number of duties between 7.30pm and 4am on Fridays and Saturdays.
The successful applicant will be in charge of checking and unlocking areas of the building used by paranormal groups, and being on site in the event of an emergency.
The prison’s job listing seeks someone with good communication skills who is able to work unsupervised.
It also reiterates that candidates must ‘not be scared of ghosts of the dark’.
